Internal and External Antistatic Approaches

Internal additives place the antistatic function within the polymer formulation; external coatings add function only where the surface needs it.

Internal additives integrate with the bulk material

They are introduced during compounding or molding and may migrate toward the surface over time.

External coatings target the functional face

A dedicated layer can be applied to selected surfaces and adjusted independently from the bulk polymer.

Lifecycle requirements guide the choice

Part geometry, handling, cleaning, humidity, appearance and rework options change the preferred route.

Hybrid strategies are also possible

An internal baseline and an external functional layer can sometimes be combined when the full construction supports it.
